Asma al-Assad, the 'princess' of Syria (Citpart)

Today, there is a region which is represented as the earthly hell nowadays. Asked to give examples, it would be difficult to choose: The Gaza Strip, Iraq, Uganda, Sierra Leone ... But no, I speak of none of these unpleasant signs of human cruelty. The country that, by the merit of the lifting of his people, is winning the front-page news around the world (except theirs) is Syria. The region to which the UN calls on both the cessation of violence (with little consequences). The region that appears in newspapers one day and other and yet also, like everything the Western world, begins to lose importance, the flame begins to fade.

Old Europe has seen so much death and suffering on their relief that nothing surprises her, even the revolt of a people doomed to dictatorship for decades. The heavy condition that is crisis, his particular rheumatism, makes she spend the day lamenting their plight, wistfully recalling the past, happy days. His tired eyes see far away the fires of Arabic insurrection, and the media, which should serve as lenses, rather than inform, stun. His deafness enable her from hearing the guns of the Syrian regime crushing the freedom of his people. Please, someone who brings some hearing aid for this invalid continent, to stop this genocide!

As you know, was in late 2010 when, full of helplessness and anger, the Arab people rose against those who had been subjected them for generations, and among them is the Family Assad, that rules with an iron fist the Syrian state since 1971. In fact, back in 1963, Syria was declared Socialist People's Democratic Republic (go, read it again, a really good joke). And so, in 2000, after the death of his father, inherited the rule Bashar al-Assad. This "People's Socialist Democratic Republican" (excuse me for repeating myself, I keep laughing) has ruled until now, using force to eliminate all opposition. But is not he in whom I want to focus, but in his beloved wife, Asma al-Assad. And it's already said that behind every great man is a great woman. Or in this case, behind a great villain ... there is another, even bigger.

Born and raised in London, the first impression that Asma caused to the world was the one of a young woman who, even marrying a Syrian leader, kept her style and Western forms. Many saw in her the so needed modernization dye the country, and so it began. So many of the improper acts of a consort held Arab (arts festivals, nonprofit organizations, Facebook account when the site is banned in Syria ...) that won the admiration of some, and increased the hope of many other. But then everything exploded, and Asma’s little candies weren’t enough to feed a population hungry for freedom and justice.

Months passed and each day come new stories of violence, murder and torture from all over the country. It is estimated about 8000 dead since the beginning of the conflict. And now that the situation has become critical, then it appears the dark side of Asma al-Assad, which one day was idealized as the responsible for cleaning the traditionalism of the Arab world. The true is that a leak of several e-mails from the first lady, show that, as recently highlighted on CNN Andrew Tabler "Asma is a modern woman, definitely different from women of other Arab leaders, but also wants to be a princess".

In an email dated February 3, the same day the deaths of 200 rebels in the infernal city of Homs were denounced, the first lady consulted with a friend if she should reserve a pair of shoes valued at 7000 euros. The data, you see, are very close: 8000 dead, 7000 euros ... Because obviously, what is the suffering of your people, murder and torture, and discriminated genocide against people when we talk about shoes? Please! A great woman can’t walk in slippers! Just found e-mails in which shows his lust for online shopping, jewelry, exclusive furniture, artwork ... Not only that, because have also been detected messages in which she makes fun about the town of Homs , just hours before the government itself ordered to the regime's forces attack this population, claiming the lives of hundreds of people. Coincidence? ...

Before the discovery of these emails, the main argument of the supporters of Asma al-Assad is that she could be a victim of the pressures of the regime. However, apparently seen, (at least to me) I have no doubt that this woman came from the West with his hands full of gifts, hiding behind her a scimitar poisoned with conformity and conservatism, which has been used to stab in the back to every Syrian who has placed their trust in her.

Blogs: Tools without frontiers (citpart)

As the years passed by in the last decades, Internet has become one of the strongest tools in our actual society. It's important to notice the communicative function played by it.

In some countries, its dictatorial governments don't allow the people to express their ideas freely in the common mass media. That's way Internet, through the blog pages, appears as a clear way of telling the world the unfair situation lived in these countries.

In order to reward the work of these bloggers, the BOB's awards were created, and they award annually the best blogs in different areas. One of the most important one is "Reporters without borders". This award focus on the blogs which made an important information service about social injustices committed in different countries around the world which, as I said before, don't have sufficient media coverage.
